Introduction
Dr. Róbert Horváth is a full associate professor in applied mathematics at University of West-Hungary, Institute of Mathematics and Statistics. He took his PhD degree in 2001. His field of research is the qualitative investigations
of numerical solutions of partial differential equations. He gave a necessary and sufficient condition for the
maximum norm contractivity of the numerical solutions of the one dimensional heat conduction equation. He presented necessary and sufficient conditions for the validity of the maximum principle for finite difference and finite element methods. Furthermore, he proved the stability of the NZCZ-method for the Maxwell's equations applying operator splitting techniques. Currently he is investigating the Black-Scholes equations.
